Lake Titicaca is famous for two things, being the highest navigable lake in the world and secondly for its floating islands. The islands being made of reeds and belonging to the Uros people. Before heading off on the long journey to the Inca capital of Cusco we visited a couple of the islands inhabited by the Uros, a chearful bunch who speak Quecha as their native language. Quecha was the native language of the Incas.http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Quechua

The Uros make a living primarily from tourism but rely heavily on the lake for the reeds which the use for building and eating and for the fishing. One of the Uros Ladies managed to sell me a home made featuring the Inca gods. I am sure it will look great on the study wall but Shelley is not so convinced.
We then set off for our 5:45 hour coach trip to Cusco, we are geting used to these long journeys now and the scenary on route is amazing.
