Day 46 December 25th 2006, Where´s the Turkey - El Chalten

After opening all of my Birthday and Christmas presents, I placed my new bookmark in the book I am reading and we set off for another trek. With stiff legs and carrying a little too much weight from last nights dinner we made our way slowly to Laguna Torre. Our guide had been partying particulary hard last night and had to stop to throw up at the top of the first hill.

Apparently he had eaten too much lamb. Shelley wanted to let him go home to sleep it off, but given the hangovers I had to work through I thought it would be better that he walks it off, afterall the fresh air was sure to do him good. A few hills later and I was pretty sure he was done throwing up.

The weather today was very mixed requiring more costume changes than a fashion show, with the wind blowing a gale we reached Laguna Torre. Complete with a few ice bergs the lake borders on a small glacier. With the waves created by the sea it looked more like an artic sea.

So what did we have for Christmas dinner? Pizza and a bottle of Champagne

Highlights: A very different Christmas day
