Pretty much everyone was have spoken to on our travels has described Santiago as a concrete jungle to be avoided at all costs, perhaps because of our familiarity with London and having recently visited Lima and Buenos Aries it seemed ok to us. The temperature was in the 90's so it was pretty hot to be walking about but the traffic pollution compared to Buenos Aries was minimal. (Below: A view across the city's square)

The capital of Chile Santiago is home to over 5 million people and in the shadow of the Andes it sprawls out in every direction. We took a funicular to the top of one of the hills in the city, upon which is a huge Virgin Mary statue. From here you can see pretty much the whole city
Not really having stayed in a Hostel before I was pleasantly surprised with the company, no smelly beard growing weirdos. We even joined in with the communal cooking of some Ceviche and subsequent easting and drinking. Uh Oh early flight tomorrow
Highlights: The Ceviche was pretty good
